Biography
Born in 1872, Lloyd B. Carleton spent his life conjuring flickering worlds out of celluloid. Between 1914 and 1923 he steered three of the silent era’s most ambitious ventures: the marital tempest of *The Walls of Jericho*, the snow-capped obsession of *Mountain Madness*, and the spectral voyage of *The Flying Dutchman*. He died quietly on 8 August 1933 in New York City, leaving behind the echo of a career that once turned light into story.
