Biography
Born in 1889, Mary Germaine stepped before the cameras only once—yet that single appearance left petals on the timeline of cinema history. In the spring of 1914 she slipped into the role of the fragile heroine for the one-reel drama Wildflower, filmed amid the flickering carbide lamps of the old Vitagraph studio. When the last take wrapped, she walked away from the set and, as far as the record shows, never walked back.
