Biography
Lemvig, Denmark, greeted Niels Th. Thomsen on 13 December 1879, and from that windswept coast he set sail for the world of words. Within five years he had given the silent screen three of its earliest Danish stories: the maritime heartbreak of *En Sømandsbrud* (1914), the moral storm of *The Folly of Sin* (1915), and the backstage confessional *Hvorledes jeg kom til Filmen* (1919). Writer, observer, cinematic pioneer—he finished his final reel on 12 April 1933.
