Biography
On 26 September 1868, amid the cobblestones and gas-lamps of Kristiania, Peter Lykke-Seest drew his first breath. The city later renamed itself Oslo; he, in turn, renamed the nation’s dreams. With a fountain pen in one pocket and a director’s viewfinder in the other, he conjured stories that flickered to life on silver screens: the outcast’s cry in *Paria* (1916), the raw pulse of adolescence in *Unge hjerter* (1917), and the tender arc of boyhood in *Historien om en gut* (1919). When the final curtain fell on 24 February 1948, Oslo kept breathing, but its cinematic skyline carried his silhouette forever.
