Biography
A November wind carried Poul Knudsen into the world on the 9th of 1889, in the northern hamlet of Bedholm, Vendsyssel. From this quiet patch of Denmark he would go on to stir the nation’s imagination, first on the page, then through the flicker of early cinema. His pen gave life to three silent-era landmarks: Elskovs magt (1912), the tragedy Letsind (1914), and the circus-shadowed drama Klovnen (1926). Eighty-four springs later, on 30 April 1974, Denmark closed the final chapter on his story.
