Biography
Born in 1887 as the baby of the Ince trio, Ralph watched siblings John and Thomas conquer early Hollywood before grabbing his own share of the spotlight. He slipped easily in front of the camera during the nickelodeon era, traded acting for a megaphone while silents still reigned, then stepped back onscreen when talkies demanded fresh voices. A brief pause later, he crossed the Atlantic, picked up the director’s baton again, and spent the last seven years of his life—1934 to 1937—crafting British thrillers until a car crash outside London cut the final reel.
