Biography
A crisp September morning in 1877 saw the birth of Reginald Wright Kauffman along the banks of the Susquehanna in Columbia, Pennsylvania. Over the next eight decades he forged a prolific career behind the typewriter, spinning tales that reached the screen in three very different decades: the political exposé Graft in 1915, the glittering underworld of Midnight Life in 1928, and the sharp-edged romance School for Girls in 1934. Kauffman’s final chapter closed on 25 April 1959, among the Blue Ridge hills of Roanoke, Virginia.
