Biography

Lambeth, 1890: a soot-dark corner of London coughed up Rowland Talbot, a quiet boy who traded factory haze for flickering cinema light. By twenty-five he was stitching cliff-hangers together, feeding Britain’s nickelodeon hunger with two 1915 punch-drunk thrillers—The Rogues of London and The Scorpion’s Sting—then letting his restless pen roam further in 1918’s Matt. That same autumn, on the Western Front, the guns swallowed him whole; 28 October 1918 became the final full stop in every story he would never tell.
