Biography
Author and lyricist, educated at Holy Cross School and a charter member of ASCAP (1914). He served overseas during World War I, and later wrote songs for Broadway and London revues, plus special material for Bert Williams, Blossom Seeley, Frank Tinney, Savoy & Brennan, Trixie Friganza, and Mae West. He was also a columnist for Variety and Dramatic Mirror. His chief musical collaborators included Fred Fisher and Ray Walker. His popular-song compositions include "Any Little Girl that's a Nice Little Girl Is the Right Little Girl for Me", "Think It Over, Mary", "Take Me With You, Cutey", "That's How You Can Tell They're Irish", "Not Me", "Your Mother's Gone Away to Join the Army".
