Biography
Wallace Irwin first drew breath on 15 March 1875 amid the tight-knit streets of Oneida, New York. A teller of tales and spinner of verse, he would later stamp his name on silent-era Hollywood through titles such as the 1915 morality drama Graft, the 1919 comedy of manners The Uplifters, and the 1927 romance The American Beauty. His pen finally rested on 14 February 1959 beneath the pine-scented air of Southern Pines, North Carolina.
