Biography
Born in 1882, Will S. Davis spent the silent era behind the camera, spinning stories from shadows and celluloid. In 1915 alone he unleashed two one-reel shocks—Destruction and The Family Stain—then followed them a year later with the six-reel thriller The Victim, each title tightening his reputation as a conjurer of suspense. The curtain fell prematurely on 19 November 1920, but the flicker of his brief, trailblazing career still sputters ghost-like through the archives of early American cinema.
