Biography
A son of England born on the spring morning of 27 March 1875, William Pigott crossed the Atlantic with a fountain-pen for luggage and a head full of cliff-hangers. Between 1915 and 1920 he stitched suspense into three silent-era landmarks—The End of the Road, the courtroom shocker The Price of Silence, and the frontier fable Lone Hand Wilson—then slipped quietly from the scene in Los Angeles on 8 October 1930, leaving the flickers flickering without him.
