Biography
Before feature-length talkies, Charles A. Pryor rode the short-form frenzy of the 1910s, sending cameras into Nevada’s alkali dust for 1913’s The Tonopah Stampede for Gold and then south of the border to chronicle The Great Mexican War in 1914—two one-reel dispatches that still carry his name through cinema’s earliest archives.
