Biography
Born in Vienna on 14 March 1870, Hans Oberländer stepped before the camera in the flicker of early German cinema: he carried the weight of guilt in 1913’s Schuldig, gave face to exile in Der Polnische Jude the following year, and closed 1914 in the redemptive shadow of Maria Magdalena.
