Biography
Born among the birch forests of Kinnarumma on 11 April 1882, Lasse Ring traded small-town silence for the flicker of early Swedish cinema. While still in his twenties he marshaled troops and cameras for the patriotic drama *För fäderneslandet* (1914), then book-ended the silent era with twin 1924 releases—the finance-craze farce *När millionerna rullar…* and the brooding mountain tale *Björn Mörk*. Director, scenarist and chronicler of a country re-imagining itself, Ring kept rolling stories until his own final reel closed on 1 August 1956.
