Biography

Emerging from Turin on November 13, 1889, Nino Oxilia became a defining voice of Italy’s silent era. As a versatile filmmaker and author, he breathed life into the screen with 1913’s 'The Living Corpse' and 'The Triumph of an Emperor', eventually reaching a gothic peak with the 1917 masterpiece 'Satan's Rhapsody'. His artistic trajectory ended abruptly on the battlefields of Monte Grappa, where he passed away on November 18, 1917, just five days after his twenty-eighth birthday.
