Biography
Robert G. Fowler arrived on 10 August 1884 beneath the wide skies of California, a landscape he would later map from the air. A filmmaker drawn to altitude, he steered his camera through the sky for *Robert G. Fowler, Trans-Continental Aviator* (1912) and swooped low over the famous waterway in *Panama and the Canal from an Aeroplane* (1914). Between take-offs and landings he shared his life with Lenore M. Fowler. His final touchdown came on 15 June 1966 in San Jose, the same state that first witnessed his ascent.
