Biography

A Danish cinematic pioneer whose flickering career was tragically brief, Stellan Rye entered the world on July 4, 1880, in Randers. As a director and writer, his creative spirit illuminated the screen, leaving behind notable works such as the haunting "The Student of Prague" (1913), "Der Flug in die Sonne" (1914), and "Ein Sommernachtstraum in unserer Zeit" (1914). His promising journey was cut short on November 14, 1914, when he passed away in France, just as his artistic vision was beginning to fully bloom.
