Biography
Warren Alfred Newcombe was a special effects artist; he won two Academy Awards for Best Special Effects for Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo (1944) and Green Dolphin Street (1947), and was nominated for Mrs. Miniver (1942). He worked on over 200 films, including Gaslight (1944), An American in Paris (1951) and Singin' in the Rain (1952).
