But if you have a soft spot for operettas and people wearing fancy uniforms while singing in gardens, you’ll probably have a decent time. Just don’t expect a history lesson.

It’s got that specific 1930s glow where everything feels painted and slightly too tidy. Mártha Eggerth is basically the sun in this thing—she’s got this energy that makes the rest of the cast look like they’re just waiting for the lunch bell.
