Biography
Bristol rang in the new year of 1849 with winter fog and the January 14 cry of Alfred Fisher, a boy who would trade England’s gray skylines for California’s sun. Decades later, Fisher’s face flickered to life on nickelodeon screens: in 1915 he slipped between crown and rags for *The Prince and the Pauper*, in 1923 he braved jungle perils in *Beasts of Paradise*, and in 1924 he threw punches draped in Old Glory for *The Fighting American*. The curtain finally fell on 26 August 1933 in Glendale, California, leaving the silent reels to speak for him.
