Biography
Alice Claire Elliott flickered briefly across the nickelodeon screen, leaving three bright scratches on the record of early cinema: in 1914 she helped *The Better Man* edge ahead of its rivals; two years later she slipped into the role of the daring flapper targeted by *The Social Highwayman*; and by 1919 she had stepped into the tangled lace of marital fallout in *His Divorced Wife*.
