Biography
A crisp Wyoming morning greeted Beulah Burns on 19 November 1908 in Cody, and before the town’s dust had settled on her childhood, the camera had already claimed her. At seven she stepped into the shadow-world of silent reels, stealing scenes in “Children of the Feud” and “A Sister of Six,” both released in 1916. A year later she brightened the frame again in “Cheerful Givers,” sealing a brief but indelible flicker across nickelodeon screens. When the klieg lights dimmed for good, she slipped westward, living out her days away from the lens until 3 February 1970, when San Francisco claimed her final curtain.
