Biography
Cajus Bruun first drew breath on 25 February 1866 in the quiet village of Gjøl, Denmark. Years later he stepped before the camera, lending his presence to Den glade løjtnant (1912), Kærlighedens Firkløver (1915) and, finally, the posthumously released Scenens Børn (1919). Off-screen he shared his life with actress Clara Bentzen, his wife and frequent stage partner. On 1 November 1919 the curtain fell for good in København, closing a career that had helped shape early Danish cinema.
