Biography
Cesare Zocchi stepped in front of the camera just as Italian cinema was learning to roar. In 1913 alone he survived the volcanoes of *The Last Days of Pompeii* and defended courtly virtue in *For the Queen’s Honor*, then resurfaced five years later amid the knockabout chaos of *Le peripezie dell’emulo di Fortunello e compagni* (1918), proving his range could stretch from ancient disaster to comic mischief without missing a beat.
