Biography
Cora Williams entered the world on 6 December 1870 amid the clatter of Chelsea, Massachusetts, and stepped onto screens large and small with a quiet magnetism that made 1919’s *His Parisian Wife* linger in audiences’ minds. Eight years later she book-ended 1927 with two more signatures on her filmography: the high-stakes heist yarn *The Great Mail Robbery* and the cautionary sparkle of *Temptations of a Shop Girl*. Off-camera, she shared her life first with A. H. Busby and later with Leon Williams Schnitzer. Just five days shy of her 57th birthday, she died in Los Angeles on 1 December 1927, closing the curtain on a career that had spanned the jittery birth of American cinema.
