Biography
Diana D’Amore stepped into the glow of the silent screen just as the art form was learning to whisper its secrets. In 1916 she burned with raw shame in *La grande vergogna*, the same year she embodied the aching innocence of *L’enfant de l’amour*. Four years later, she returned—older, wiser—to wander the rubble of broken hopes in *Sulle rovine di un sogno* (1920), her final gift to audiences who would never hear her voice.
