Biography
Edith Bostwick first drew breath on 29 January 1882 amid the gold-rush air of Golden, Colorado. By her early thirties she had stepped before the camera, gifting the silent era three surviving gems: the shimmering romance “The Violet Bride” (1913), the biblical spectacle “Samson” (1914), and the breezy comedy “Thank You” (1925). Off-screen she joined fortunes—and last names—with fellow actor J. Farrell MacDonald. Her final curtain fell in Hollywood, California, on 3 December 1943.
