Biography
While headlines in the April 15, 1921 Paterson Morning Call celebrated Edith Storey’s return to film, they breezed past the war years she had spent dodging shellfire, not cameras—steering an ambulance for the American hospital corps somewhere between the Marne and the Bronx, depending on which dispatch you believe. Either way, when the lights of the set came back up, she stepped out of the exhaust haze and onto the screen as though she had never left.
