Biography
Philadelphia greeted Edna Mayo on 23 March 1895, and by 1915 the camera had already fallen for her: first in *Frauds*, then twice more in 1916 with *The Chaperon* and *The Return of Eve*. Between takes she doubled the “Mrs.” in her address book—first to Mr. White, later to Mr. Royce. Fifty-four springs after her silver-screen debut, San Francisco closed her final scene on 5 May 1970.
