Biography
Edwin Boring first drew breath on 25 May 1868 in Columbus, Ohio, and spent the next fifty-four years trading quiet Midwestern streets for the flicker of early film. Between 1912 and 1916 he stepped before the camera just long enough to leave three sharp imprints: the buddy charm of Two Old Pals, the moral tug-of-war in The Bigger Man, and, most famously, the dagger-and-poison romance of 1916’s Romeo and Juliet. On 18 January 1923 the curtain fell for good in the Bronx, New York City, closing a life that had helped spell out what motion-picture acting could be.
