Biography
Before Chaplin’s cane or Pickford’s curls became shorthand for cinema itself, Elmer Peterson stepped in front of the camera during the medium’s infancy. In 1914 alone he logged two surviving relics of the silent era—*At the Cross Roads* and *A Foolish Agreement*—then capped the following year with *Samson*, flexing dramatic muscle in a role that traded temple pillars for the flicker of a projector’s light.
