Biography
Born in 1890, Elsie MacLeod launched her film career with a debut in Bannister Merwin’s “Two White Roses” for the Edison Film Company in 1911. Over the next decade she became a familiar face in both comedy and drama, earning a lasting reputation through the 1916 “Bungles” series produced by Vim Film Company—where she co‑starred, was directed by Marcel Perez, and shared the screen with Oliver Hardy in a supporting role. Her final appearance came in Sidney Olcott’s 1921 drama “The Right Way,” in which she played a character role. In total, MacLeod graced nearly a hundred film titles between 1911 and 1921.
