Born in Iowa, USA, on 20 January 1878, Ernest Joy forged a career as a versatile talent, equally at home as an actor and a production manager in the burgeoning world of cinema. His on-screen presence graced notable films such as the 1914 production *Cameo Kirby*, the epic *Joan the Woman* (1916), and the 1920 feature *The Dancin' Fool*. Beyond the silver screen, his personal life was marked by two marriages, first to Jessie Busley, then to Mabel Van Buren. Joy's journey in the film industry concluded prematurely with his death on 12 February 1924, in Los Angeles, California, USA.
