Biography
A native New Yorker, Frank Whitson first drew breath on 22 March 1877 amid the clang of Manhattan’s elevated trains. Between 1916 and 1921 he slipped into the skins of outlaws, explorers and jungle heroes, stamping his presence on The Mark of Cain, Restitution and the serial Adventures of Tarzan. Nearly five decades after that city birth, he closed his final scene on 19 March 1946, three days shy of his sixty-ninth birthday, under the California sun in Los Angeles.
