Biography
August 10, 1891, found George Fisher entering the world amid the copper-country snows of Republic, Michigan. By the time cameras rolled on the silent swashbuckler *The Three Musketeers* in 1916, he had already traded Lake Superior breezes for klieg lights. Two years later he charmed audiences as the jovial hero of *A Little Sister of Everybody*, and in 1927 he braved convict ships and Tasmanian wilds in the colonial epic *For the Term of His Natural Life*. Sixty-nine summers later—on August 13, 1960—the curtain came down in Sawtelle, California, closing a career that spanned the birth pangs of Hollywood and the roar of the talkies.
