Biography
A San Francisco earthquake of 1875 arrived in human form: George Stanley, born January 29, grew up to pour his restless energy onto the silent screen. In 1915 he snatched himself a wife—on celluloid at least—in the one-reel romp *He Got Himself a Wife*. Six years later he traded comedy for cliffhangers, tangling with destiny in the 1921 serial *Fighting Fate*. The following year he doffed his cap to kirk and clan as a stalwart Scotsman in *The Little Minister* (1922), sealing a compact but memorable trilogy of early Hollywood adventures.
