Biography
Hanni Reinwald first drew breath on 24 August 1903 in the hillside parish of Degerloch—today swallowed by Stuttgart’s sprawl. By sixteen she had already stepped before the camera, bewitching silent-era audiences as the enigmatic lead in Mysterien der Venus (1919). Over the next decade she kept the momentum alive, slipping into flapper mischief for Der krasse Fuchs (1926) and then trading comedy for sparkle in the ballet-crazed confection Das rosa Pantöffelchen (1927). After the talkies rewrote the rules, Reinwald quietly left the spotlight, living out her days in Munich until her death in 1978.
