Biography
Buffalo, 3 August 1889: Harry Spingler entered the world, and before the silent era dimmed he had already faced the camera in *From the Valley of the Missing*, wrestled destiny in *Samson*, and marched through the barricades of *Les Misérables*—all in 1915-17. Along the way he claimed two leading ladies, Alma Bennett and Vera Michelena, as wives. The final curtain fell on 22 April 1953 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, closing a life that had flickered brightly across the silver sheet.
