Biography
Copenhagen, 13 June 1875: a restless boy named Henry Seemann enters the world, already rehearsing stories in his head. By the time the silent camera began to turn, he had traded the city’s cobblestones for the flicker of celluloid, slipping between roles as actor and scribe with equal ease. Audiences first noticed him in the high-seas gamble *Paa de vilde Vover* (1915), then as the enigmatic third chapter of *Manden med de ni Fingre* (1916), and finally twirling through the bittersweet dreams of *Den lille Danserinde* (1918). Off-screen, he wrote love letters that became marriage vows to Agnes Nørlund Seemann. When the curtain fell for good on 10 June 1948, Copenhagen dimmed its lights, but the images he left behind keep moving, frame by luminous frame.
