Biography
May 1855: a New York City spring welcomed Ida Lewis into the world. By the time silent film began to flicker, she had stepped in front of the camera, lending her presence to A Man’s Man in 1917, planting comic roots in Some Pun’kins eight years later, and tightening the suspense of 1928’s Law of Fear. Her final curtain fell on 21 April 1935, far west in Hollywood, California.
