Biography
Toronto welcomed Ilean Hume on 26 February 1896, and by 1914 she was already facing down counterfeiters on-screen in The $5,000,000 Counterfeiting Plot. Two years later she steered audiences through The Turmoil, followed by the beguiling uncertainties of The Duchess of Doubt in 1917. After the cameras dimmed, she slipped into California sunshine, spending her final days in Studio City until 20 November 1978.
