Biography
Budapest welcomed Ilonka Bedõ on 23 May 1893, and by the time the city’s gas-lamps were flickering out, she was already flickering across silver screens. In 1913 she stepped before the camera for *Az utolsó bohém*, followed a year later by the gold-rush farce *Az aranyásó*, then traded comedy for trench-coat drama in 1918’s *Károly bakák*. Three films, three moods—each frame proof that Bedõ’s brief arc burned brighter than most careers twice as long.
