Biography

Before he ever stepped in front of a camera, Jack Henry was already a century ahead of himself—his first screen appearance arrived in 1914 with The Better Man, a silent one-reeler that outlived most of its audience. Four silent decades later he resurfaced as the calculating jewel thief in Flannelfoot (1953), trading footfalls for footlights while London’s fog swallowed his silhouette. Finally, in 1962’s swing-era romp Play It Cool, he traded menace for martinis, proving that a well-cut tuxedo and a raised eyebrow could still steal a scene faster than any gun.
