Biography
Jack Rollens arrived in the world on 13 October 1902, amid the clang of Chicago’s elevated rails. By twenty-one he was already facing cameras, lending quiet gravity to Gentle Julia’s flapper-era romance, then diving into the swashbuckling dust of The Silver Treasure three years later. Off-screen he staged scenes himself, steering The Charlatan’s carnival shadows in 1929. Between takes he collected two marriages—first to Evelyn Howard, later to Edna Payne—before the California sun set on his life in Los Angeles on 19 March 1955.
