Biography
A burst of summer light—June 27, 1854—welcomed Jacob Abrams to the clamor of New York City streets. Thirty years later he swapped city thunder for celluloid dreams, carving stories one reel at a time. In 1917 he unveiled The Blood of His Fathers, followed the next year by the prickly romance Social Briars, and capped the silent era in 1921 with the glittering morality tale God’s Gold.
