Biography
Hailing from the nation's capital, James Lackaye entered the world on December 5, 1867, eventually establishing himself as a versatile force in the nascent film industry. Both a gifted actor and a director, Lackaye left an indelible mark on silent cinema with standout roles and direction in 'The Christian' (1914), 'Cutey's Waterloo' (1913), and 'Which?' (1913). His life and career reached their final act in New York City on June 8, 1919.
