Biography
Philadelphia welcomed Jerold T. Hevener on 30 April 1873, and before the century turned he was already hustling on both sides of the camera. Between 1913 and 1914 he steered three brisk one-reelers—The Female Detective, The Female Cop, Only Skin Deep—shaping their stories while stepping in front of the lens himself. More than three decades after the last of those frames flickered, he drew his final breath in Metuchen, New Jersey, on 14 April 1947.
