Biography
La Spezia welcomed Lamberto Picasso on 21 October 1880, and from that Ligurian coastal town he marched onto screens across Italy. Between the late thirties and early forties he slipped into history three times: as the iron-willed protagonist of Ettore Fieramosca (1938), the tormented monarch of Amore imperiale (1941), and the defiant voice of resistance in We the Living (1942). Eight decades after his birth, Rome closed the curtain on 17 September 1962, but the flicker of his performances keeps the spotlight alive.
