Biography
Baltimore, 28 April 1858: the curtain rose on Leonard Grover’s first breath. By the time the lights dimmed in Brooklyn on 24 March 1947, he had carved twin careers on stage and page, leaving footprints in the flicker of early cinema. Audiences met his snarl in Rainy, the Lion Killer (1914), felt the pulse of prophecy in The Coming Power that same year, and tasted star-crossed tragedy in 1916’s Romeo and Juliet. Off-screen, he shared his life—and marquee—with actress Ida May Oliver, the world’s Kitty O’Neil.
